Together, Alex Fitzpatrick of ADesignStudio and Sarah Ellison have created a range of organically shaped spheres that are sure to steal the spotlight.
The enlarged rounded pebble-like shapes comprise couplets of irregularly moulded domes and an alabaster fade encased within a larger Clear, Sepia or Salmon shade, tethered to contoured brass bases.
ADesignStudio’s experimentation with textured and coloured glass, merge traditional glassblowing and metalworking skills with superior lighting technologies. The result achieves tonal intensities fused with dimmable luminaries.
Emitting warm opaque glows and scattering dappled refractions upon surfaces they inhabit, each piece from the ADesignStudio + Sarah Ellison collection ranges from a rich, nutty cinnamon hue to a golden amber shade at full intensity.
“The challenge was to disguise the electrical source so the so that each piece literally glowed like a mined jewel and emitted the brilliant patterning from our crackles glass. For me that’s where the alchemy takes place – the conversion of a hand-made object into a seemingly natural element from the earth.” says Alex Fitzpatrick.
